There is a suspicion, though not verified, that "Supernatural" originally intended to spoof their Thursday night competition. That would be "Grey's Anatomy" and "CSI LV". However, while the video clip below is night shift criminal scene, we're certain there was no way to impersonate any of "CSI" cast members to draw recognition from their audience.
Therefore, we get the dark of night, with a wretched version of Horatio Caine, the iconic characterization from David Caruso that is instantly accepted worldwide, yet barely passable here. Also of note is the familiar rhythm patterns of the background music.
For those who missed it, there is a very short clip of Hugh Laurie on "House", giving his interpretation of Horatio Caine. Again, instant recognition.

Love the House clip. Not quite so fond of the Supernatural clip. I can appreciate parodies as much as anyone, but I do think that the "no-talent douchebags" comment was taking it a little too far.

Ditto Dojo! Lol! David announced on his MS the CBS competition inviting people to send in their H Caine impressions. Hope he knows what he is in for! Both of these qute humorous!

Are there awards for the winners of this little adventure?
A quick browse through YouTube shows hundreds, perhaps thousands, of very bad Horatio apers. I cannot tolerate Jim Carrey, so would have no patience at all for these others.
Yeah; yeah. I'll check out CBS and maybe even comment favorably, but any gushing support will probably ring hollow.

Well, my voice is husky, though not so subdued. Red wig, sunnies, and that whipping in and out of frames, hands on hips? I could do that, easily. Not convincingly, but easily.
