David Caruso: Superior Stance?

This was an article about Fox' show, "Lie to Me", that ran in the Tampa/St. Pete Times. The entertainment editor interviewed a retired FBI agent, supposedly an expert in non-verbal communications.

Before they took on the primary subject of the piece, the agent insisted on expounding on his take of Horatio Caine and his notorious stance.

Superior and apart? Horatio Caine? David Caruso? Nah, couldn't be, could it?

It's only one paragraph, but worth a giggle or a guffaw, depending on one's perceptions of either Horatio or David.

Mr Navarro had better just been talking about "Lie to me" (of course I never seen it, maybe it will appear on TV in my country, in due time). If You have to be an expert to notice that DC plays HC as a person very outdistanced, just to break that when someone in really great sorrow or pain need him as person or human being, then we're all experts!

I should have finished the piece off with a big "DUH" (does that translate well?)

Without knowledge of Lie to Me, it's difficult to speculate but, based on his DC/HC profiling, he'd never make it on Criminal Minds.

Dojo, you beat me to the use of "DUH"! This superior air Horatio is seen to have by the so-called "expert" could not be further off the mark. Horatio is humble, often displaying a touch of shyness, he's wary, attentive and secretive. I feel he doesn't want the suspect to "read" his body or facial language so he tries to avoid full-front encounters until he is sure of himself. The exception to this are his dealings with children and victims. Here we see a very open, compassionate and even vulnerable side to Horatio; no one should feel intimidated by him during these moments.

Lol! Show him Reid...
(Duh is useful. Meh is another. Just import them as they are.)

Thanks for the fun read, Dojo, I was able to use a good laugh at this time.

I love when the 'experts' tell of their opinions about television.

Actors/actresses are paid to play their part, a part which few ( like David ) plays extremely well.

If an 'expert' on non-verbal communications, can be easily fooled by David's acting skill, then Mr Caruso's acting level just got boosted up a bar.

:D
