It was brought to our attention. We're ashamed to admit we hadn't thought of it. Please, it would be a great boost to Best Buddies if someone in David Caruso's camp would send Sarah Palin and Baby Trig, perhaps the entire Palin family, Best Buddies T-shirts.
Thanks for thinking of it and passing it on to us, Shelby!

Thank you for this. I hope you mean a great "boost" instead of "boast" though. These typos sometimes misrepresent what we actually meant to say.
While conceding that Sen. McCain's speech was not as energizing as Palin's, I do not remember when I last saw an audience where so many men had tears in their eyes. Regardless of one's political persuasion, you cannot doubt this man's patriotism. It's going to be an interesting 61 days.
Oops. Typos are easy when one doesn't proof what one types.
I'm debating online right now with an Obama supporter, as devil's advocate, while I read up on Obama's voting record. My adversary is about 30 and full of piss and vinegar.
No, McCain didn't have the same oomph as Palin's but it was intense. It will be interesting but a very long 61 days.
They are talking about this over on DC Message Boards too. About sending them all t-shirts I mean.
Wouldn't it be cool if they did!
The members are wondering how we could get this message to David or even Greta.
Are we sure that the Palin's are not already involved with Best Buddies?
I don't know if there is a BB chapter in Alaska (I think that's where they live). I guess I'll go find out.
I think it's great, Dojo, that you posted about this.
Krystal
"...full of piss and vinegar"!!! Lol! Very funny! Never heard that before!
Don't know who mentioned it to you, dojo, but we had an in depth conversation about it on the DC message board. Karen brought up the idea and we think it's a fantastic idea. Is there anything we can do about it?
A new phrase for the Aussie lass? Quite common here. It brings to mind a word to the wise for Heidi. Don't try to fake your origin if you don't know the vernacular of the region.
Shelby brought the Best Buddies idea to us. I felt it important enough to make a piece of it. A cursory check didn't find an Alaskan branch. Perhaps one of our readers will bring it to DC's attention (or Greta). No, Krystal, I don't know if the Palin's are involved; Trig's only a few months old and Mom's been fairly involved in other things.
It would be good publicity for BB if the Palins were involved. I hope this doesn't come across as...insensitive, but Trig Palin is the most well-known child with Down Syndrome in the USA. This could be good for EVERYONE involved. Imagine BB getting some well-deserved attention. I could see the number of people involved just EXPLODING!
Yeah..."mom" has been busy these last few days. Talking to 40 million people isn't something to take lightly. She's not something to take lightly either. :P
Just to clarify things: I thought everyone on the DC message board knew that I (Karen aka Ohiogranny) was posting as Shelby on this site. I thought I mentioned it when I first joined but it might have been in a pm to someone specific instead of on an open thread. My purpose in using a different name was to see if I could write in a different style, but, alas, my pedantic prose follows me everywhere.
LOL!!! "SHELBY"...I was talking to Lucy about this...and I showed her the statement someone "In David's Camp". I said--doesn't that sound EXACTLY like Karen?
Hahaha. That's fantastic. Okay, Karen/Shelby. This makes sense now. ;)
Shelby, I was told a while ago that one of the posters here was active on that board. The dense one (me) thought she was talking about Krystal. Welcome with whatever name you choose. We love your input.
